8/3- 8/31 Mondays Mixed Media Collage
17yrs +. All Supplies are included!
Instructor: Shelley Rothgeb
When: Mondays 6:30-8:30pm
8/3, 8/10, 8/24, 8/31. (NO CLASS 8/17)
Discover a unique approach to mixed media by combining fabric, paper, collage, stitching, painting, drawing, and even your own photographs to create richly textured, one-of-a-kind artwork.
You'll explore collage, embroidery, free-motion machine stitching, and creative mark-making in a relaxed, supportive environment where experimentation is encouraged.
Four two-hour sessions on Monday evenings in August. Work on your project between classes if you'd like—but no homework is required.
Come play, create, and be inspired. Reserve your spot today!
Schedule:
Class 1: Bring some fabric scraps that you love or some memorabilia with a theme. We will layer and turn them into your first piece of fabric using a wet appliqué method developed by English artist Cas Holmes.
Class 2: Come prepared with up to 3 of your own photographs that you would like to work with. We will be manipulating this into a final version for printing. We will also be stitching your work from last week.
Class 3: You will receive your photographs printed on fabric to make your next creation. Bring fabric and memorabilia relating to your photo to work with.
Class 4: More stitching and mark making. We will talk about ways to finish and display your amazing creations!
